Updated examples of General Prayers of Intercessions
The library of General Prayers of Intercession has been updated. Prayers can be 'cut and pasted' from the library of used as a springboard for the writing of intercessory prayers better suited to your local context.
The General Intercessions are grouped under five broad headings:
- For the needs of the Church
- For public authorities and the salvation of the whole world
- For those burdened by any kind of difficulty
- For the local community
- Feasts and special occasions

Our Lady of Good Counsel parish have embarked on an Environmental Action Project entitled "Stewards of Creation" which is challenging and providing each parishioner with opportunities for "every parishioner to witness Christ in their own way, every day". They are hosting three forums which ask the questions WHY, WHAT and HOW. The guests are from Australian Catholic University, Melbourne University, Institute of Public Affairs and of course Catholic Earthcare Australia. Please click here for the programme.
Here is the challenge that the parishioners have set themselves:
The OLGC "Vision for Outreach" calls on Social Justice to "Look beyond its Borders and Boundaries" and to undertake a project that will draw the whole parish to the Stewardship of the earth to which we are all called. This project will provide real opportunities for "Every parishioner to witness Christ in their own way, every day".
Stewards of Creation will:

Stewards of Creation asks parishioners to:
. Participate in formation sessions
. Engage with others in the parish

. Clergy
. Leadership teams and parish groups
. School curriculum co-ordinators and teachers
. Youth project leaders
. Outreach leaders
. Concerned individuals and families
