ASSISI FORMATION - Creation and Reconcilation

Are you wondering about your role in leadership for mission?

I am writing to formally invite you and other leaders from within your organisation to participate in a unique leadership pilgrimage program - Creation and Reconciliation. This program is open to all those in leadership roles within the Church and its allied organisations/agencies. It seeks to offer participants an experience of personal transformation through spending time on country and to provide opportunities to explore possibilities to lead social change for justice, reconciliation and integrity of creation.

The three founding partners of the Creation and Reconciliation 2012 program are The Broken Bay Institute, the Catholic Schools Office Broken Bay and Catholic Earthcare Australia. We are planning for the inaugural program to be held at ‘Winbourne - Edmund Rice Retreat and Conference Centre’, Mulgoa from 13th - 19th April 2012. This six-day residential program will take place on Dhurag country in the foothills of the majestic Blue Mountains.

This pilgrimage experience will include three full day excursions. The first is to Aboriginal sites in the Blue Mountains with Fr Eugene Stockton. The second is a visit to Kameygal country (La Perouse/Botany Bay) with Dave Ella and members of the local Aboriginal communities to explore Aboriginal history with colonisation. Other special guests will feature during the program, including internationally acclaimed ecological theologian, Fr Denis Edwards.

On behalf of the founding partners I wish to invite you to participate in the program. Please see the attached brochure for further details.  Places for this program are limited and you are therefore invited to register your interest in participating as soon as possible. If you have any questions or wish to register your interest, please contact Mary-Ann Casanova rsj (see email and telephone number above). Registrations will need to be finalised no later than Friday 14th March 2012.

Yours sincerely,

Jacqueline Remond

Director of Catholic Earthcare Australia
