They were astounded at his teaching
Mark 1:22

St Francis Xavier's Church, Lavender Bay
Author: Sr Lynne Green
Aware of how deeply so many people in our country are suffering, because of floods, fire and the loss of homes and loved ones, let us pause, and hold them in our hearts, . . . (pause)
and all who reach out to help them to cope, and to recover . . . (pause)
The response to each of our prayers is:
Heal us all, O God
We are weighed down with sadness at the tragedy so many have experienced
. . . (pause)
O God, hear the cry of the poor
All: Heal us all, O God
Our minds struggle to come to terms with the horror of the past few days
. . . (pause)
O God, hear the cry of the poor
All: Heal us all, O God
Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the dead, and search for ways to help those who have survived . . . (pause)
O God, hear the cry of the poor
All: Heal us all, O God
Let us say our final prayer together:
May the love of God
and the peace of Jesus Christ
bless and console each one who mourns
and gently wipe the tears from every eye.
Amen
