As we continue to celebrate the Easter season – for Christ’s friends a time of joy in which they also re-considered what his coming into their lives had meant – let us pray for the wisdom we need to share his love with those who need it most in our world today . . . (pause)

We pray for asylum-seekers – forced to leave their homes because of war, persecution, civil unrest and religious strife in their own countries – and for those who will try to help them – and their families – build new, safe lives, . . . (pause)

This ANZAC weekend let us pray, too, for people who grieving the loss of loved ones in war and natural disasters, as well as from sickness and physical and emotional separation . . . (pause)

As we honour those killed in wars as they tried to keep others safe, let us pray for the determination – both to build peace in our world – and to keep our environment safe for future generations . . . (pause)

While we try to be sure our children enjoy the school holidays, let us also pray for young indigenous people facing an uncertain future – in overcrowded living spaces, and inadequate and under-funded educational premises, in the Kimberley . . . (pause)
