In today's Gospel reading we see Jesus giving all his attention to someone needing help . . . (pause)

So, let us pray that leaders - in churches and in other faith groups - will use their personal gifts to help heal and encourage people facing crisis or challenge . . . (pause)

Today, Father's Day, we give thanks for Dads who have challenged us to open our eyes, and to use our voices for people who have little support from family or friends in their everyday lives . . . (pause)

Tomorrow is International Literacy Day, so let us pray for young people as they gain life skills to prepare them for adult working lives, and for special educators who engage with others, for whom learning has been more difficult . . . (pause)

During September, Biodiversity Month, let us pray for insights into practical ways in which we personally can work to sustain the environment, and support efforts to conserve habitats for native flora and fauna in our country . . . (pause)
