General Intercessions
In the middle of school holidays we appreciate that Jesus arranged for his co-workers and friends to take some ‘time out’ from busy and challenging everyday lives – to rest, listen, and take stock . . . (pause)
But let us pray we can be ready – as he was – to change our plans when we see people who need our help to face challenges and crisis in their lives right now . . .

As we also remember the impact many young people had on our lives a year ago, ahead of World Youth Day, let us pray that leaders in our communities will respect the right of parents to choose schools where their children can absorb values consistent with their social and religious beliefs . . . (pause)

We pray that people in countries such as China and Indonesia – who are struggling to have basic human rights respected, or facing the loss of loved ones in recent violent attacks - will soon know peace . . . (pause)

As people at grassroots level in groups and communities, we value being recognised for what we contribute. So we pray we will continue to honour the way the natural environment has nurtured us, by living sustainably within it
