Today, the first of two Sundays when children in our parish receive their first Holy Communion, we join with their families as they celebrate this special time . . . (pause)
We pray too, that – like Jesus’ friends in today’s Gospel reading – we can learn to face our fears, and help people we know to discover their inner strength in times of crisis . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us
All: Lord, hear our prayer

Lord, hear us
All: Lord, hear our prayer
We pray for people in our own country and in other parts of the world who are setting us an example by walking on paths to peace, and respecting and protecting the environment in which we live . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us
All : Lord, hear our prayer
Let us pause, and hold in prayer loved ones who have shaped our lives and sharpened our sense of responsibility for those who are less fortunate than we are . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us
All: Lord, hear our prayer
